Goodbye to Cheryl’s Clothes Closet, another veteran business to bite the dust. Tough economic times combined with a major overhaul of the Downtown Auburn area put nails in the coffin of an already struggling consignment store but two new locations in less than three years along with raised prices, less inventory (or seemingly so) and higher rent all pushed the store over the edge. After what seems like a lifetime, we bid farewell to Cheryl’s with fondness.

I spawned my uke band in November last year so next month will be a year and I continue to manage and play in this casual string band now re-named The StringAlongs.  Practice is held Sundays at 11am at The Dessert Shop in Old Town Auburn where we regulars invite those Senior string players who can adapt to a casual and spontaneous atmosphere, play the music and sing the songs and enjoy camaraderie.  Have the right stuff?   Join the fun.
